Go to a dermatologist, it's probably eczema or psoriasis or a combination of both. I suffer the same fate and have to use 2.5% prescription hydrocortisone cream when it gets really bad. Also use lotion when masturbating, as friction makes it worse.

But that's me. Just go to the doctor, I was once self conscious about it in front of an MD but common, they have seen a lot, lot worse.

It really shouldn't be harsh. I've experienced slight burning but that's only when things are really chapped. Make sure there is only the medicine in it, that you arnt using something with tiger balm or menthol / alcohol in it. Also try some pine tar soap in the shower. It made a huge difference for me. Tea Tree oil might also be good, but I never noticed much difference.

Its possible you have a yeast infection or fungal infection. Dont freak out, you just need to see a doc and itll go away with proper care.
