That's coagulated blood. You probably blew your nose too often, thinking it was full of snot when you really had inflamed sinuses.

I get a lot of nose bleeds, and after a while, once it starts to clot, it looks like that. Be thankful it came out of your nose and didn't slide down your nasal passage into your throat, because that's a fucking gross feeling.
