Thanks,

Thanks anon, believe me I have used google but really nothing recent comes up, everything is from 3-4 years ago. One thing i learned from every page is the airports are lousy with thieves, so guard your bags like a wolf.

I was born in Düsseldorf and currently residing just outside the city.
City is pretty cool, can get expensive though due to it being the fashion capital of that region.
Places to avoid:
Düsseldorf - Eller
Düsseldorf - Reisholz
Nice Places:
Altstadt
Hafen (Harbour)
Oberkassel

Some misc. information
The city itself is pretty old (roughly 800 years IIRC) with a lot of interesting architecture. Especially in the Altstad (Oldtown)
We have our own beer (Düsseldorfer Alt) with many different Breweries creating their own versions. (Uerige / Frankenheim + dozen others)
Düsseldorf has a lot of Japanese people and even a small version of Chinatown (more like little Tokyo)
Out airport is pretty great (with an integrated air-transit )
Düsseldorf has a rivalry with Köln (Cologne), especially about beer. (Colognes "Kölsch" tastes like piss)

If you like nature, we have two prominent parks (Lantz'scher Park / Grafenberger Wald)
If you want to go full country , we have several cities and villages in the vicinity (Angermund / Heiligenhaus / Ratingen Lintorf)
