No, it's not normal, but common these days.
My brother's marriage is falling apart right now and they argued a lot the entire relationship (15+ years).
My husband and I have been together for 10 years and rarely argue or fight. It would kill me inside if we did fight like my brother does with his wife. I can see how it is draining you.
