Roommates / Living alone?

A bit of a preface.
First, Ive lived with my current roommate for 3 years now. We just got a new apartment, it a better area and are about about 3 weeks into our current lease. We are pretty compatible roommates. We've never really argued about anything, and we can easily keep to ourselves without issue. Neither of us really throws parties or has guests over outside of girlfriends.

Second, I hate my roommates current gf. Hes been dating her for almost a year now if I'm thinking correctly.

While we are barely into our current lease, I have a very strong suspicion that next year I'll be living on my own or looking for a new roommate. Not by choice, but because I think his gf is going to try and move in with him and basically push me out. I'm not 100% this is going to happen, but I'm pretty confident in it.
Now I've never lived alone. I don't have a good job, and never really have. I've always had a reliable / steady job, but living alone on that pay would be really difficult.
Advice on what I should do?
Ask him his plans for next year now, or should I wait until renewal time, see if they are still together and going to do what I'm assuming is her goal.

(I'm strongly thinking this because I heard her make a comment earlier about how shed furnish their apartment / home together)

tl;dr my good roommate of a few years may give me the boot for his gf next year, and I'm not comfortable living alone / paying for everything alone. I don't have many other friends Id live compatibly with outside of MAYBE one. Advice?
