I've had this idea in my head for a really long time now. Sort of a "last resort" plan if everything else fails. I'd just study theology and become a priest or become a monk.
The only problem is, I'm not religious. Not a believer, at all. But the roman Catholic church is still very strong in Austria and they have a LOT of money and land. And they tend to take good care of their people.
First of all, do you think I'd be accepted as someone who is trying to "find" their faith as a monk?
If that doesn't work, do you think I could fake it?
Or is it just a retarded idea in general?
People don't become monks as a 'back up plan,' they're raised to be monks from childhood.
Figure out what you need to do to become an academic monk. That way you'll get to work in the archives, and you'll actually lead worthwhile life.

"No"
Literally not how it works.

I've already done that, basically anyone can apply, then they'll live with them for a few weeks, if everything goes well you get a year in training, if that works out you have a 3 year education, after that you're officially a monk.
