Previous/current military folks I need your /adv/ice.
I want to go to OCS after I get back from a deployment. Some officers have told me that being combat arms is overrated. Others have told me your whole career will be fast-tracked if you've been an infantry officer.
My question is - what career path should I be shooting for if I want long-term success as an officer? I know you're not guaranteed anything, but having a focus helps a lot.
And, what's your input/exposure to/advice to about public affairs? That's what I'll be doing overseas.

Nobody on 4chan knows shit about being an officer. With that said, go ask >>>/k/. If you go infantry, make sure you can get ranger tab, or you will be laughed at your whole career afaik.
