it can be. there's no right or wrong way to feel after someone close to you dies. people feel all kinds of ways.

I thought about this a while ago. I feel like we're supposed feel a certain way, and that we're taught to do so by culture and imitation.
Any emotion is legit, I wouldn't feel bad about your relief.

I was raised around a very embracing set of people who understands death and what it stands for; we all must die at point but sometimes they die so earlier. I got a pair of my friend's shoes and fuck it feels weird to walk in them.
