Time and maturity. If you're an adolescent male born in the internet age chances are you'll be a moody little ball of pride and insecurity until you turn about 30 and realize that the prideful assholes are a dime a dozen.

Unless you're rich or a 10/10 with a 12" dick, being an insecure fuck-o with a steel pride isn't socially viable. People won't put up with it from some fuckin average joe.
