I usually sleep 6-8 hours. If I stay up past 24 hours (e.g. staying awake 2 full days) will I still sleep 6-8 hours or will I need to sleep for double to catch up on lost sleep? Is there such a thing as "lost sleep" where your body keeps track of the hours?
Not precisely, but you will be more tired after two days so you will sleep longer. Probably still not enough to really make up for it, though. Also be prepared to be extra tired after sleeping extra long because your pattern is broken and you're still not fully "recharged".
Also sleep deprivation is a hell of a drug and hard on your health.
