>Chronic diarrhea for 2.5 years (currently 26)
>no money/insurance for doctor visits to figure out issue
>starting to get my life together and this issue leaves me constantly tired (imagine peeing out your butt 4+ a day)
>looking for a diet or strategy to pinpoint issue (assuming it's a food allergy never cared much to find out just accepted the problem)
>looked into whole 30 and fodmap elimination diet
Any experience/suggestions with these diets/food allergies or general advice?

Bro you need to see a doctor. Could be as serious as chrons or cancer or some shit. You can't hop on Medicaid or something?

you're fucked, most probably cancer (seen this before)
You're lactose intolerant. Cut the milk out.

Seconding this, try going without ANY lactose for a few days and see how you feel then. I hope it's just lactose intolerance (and not something worse) for you since that's very easy to manage.
i had chronic diarrhea for about half a year. i tried cutting out gluten, dairy and chocolate(i always got it extra bad after eating chocolate). none of these really worked although i still dont eat dairy for other reasons. try going a couple of weeks eating just boiled potatoes and carrots and only drinking water. i also got my hands on a home enema so i could clean out the shit before i had to go to school. this was basically the only thing that cured my problem. i think my issue was that the constant diarrhea created anxiety which perpetuated the diarrhea, creating an endless cycle. hope you get well soon, it was honestly so sucky when i had to go through it, cant imagine going through it for 2 and a half years
