I'm headed down a path in life where there's a strong chance that I'll become celibate and remain eternally a virgin. I've made my peace with this, but I'm wondering: what are the possible upsides of living a life abstaining from marriage and sexual relations? What do you guys see as good or bad relating to being eternally single?
I'm currently 18, handholdless and kissless, and have never been in a relationship due to being very introverted as well as homeschooled all of highschool. I'm 6'1" and am relatively healthy, not fat or a lanklet. Purpose of this direction in life is a religious one.

long term single here, four years, yes by choice. I get laid often enough (Gay fag) but i dont really enjoy a relationship unless its with someone exceptional.
the benefits of being long term single is that you can focus on passions. something i notice about people in relationships is that either their relationships suffer, or their passions do. its impossible to focus on say, making a movie when your partner expects you to spend almost every day after work wtih them.
flings are great cuz its just the early stages of a relationship, maybe twice a week. but you cut it off before it becomes a 'we basically live together' thing.
