I really want to be alone. I want to dump my girl, and focus on school. I would like to make new friends, as hanging out/living with her takes all my time. I want to thrive on my own, doing what I want, and focusing on my goals. But I am terrified of being alone. What would you do in my situation?

If you're only with her because you're afraid of being alone, your relationship must be unhealthy. But is this really such a binary problem? Can't you just tell your girlfriend that she's stifling you and you need more time apart? If that idea freaks her out, then yeah, dump her, but at least explain how you feel first.
