The whole "you are the sum of your habits" thing got me wondering if part of the reason I'm a bit of a weirdo is because I have way too many weird habits.
I mean, nothing illegal or too fucked up, but there's some weird shit in there. Choices of porn that are probably outside the mainstream, the fact I stalk people hard online (including people I've been stalking for years and they don't even know who I am), some online forums that might be a bad influence, some mild stuff like eavesdropping and making too much eye contact with women on the street, etc. So I thought about cutting this shit and falling into line.
Has anyone tried this? Does it work? Or is it yet another nostrum that losers tend to come up with in order to ''cure'' their condition of being a loser?

Weird habits aside, are you doing okay in life? If you are, who gives a shit if you're weird? It's practically trendy nowadays; all the kids are bragging about how weird they are.

Nah. Pretty fucking far from okay. My lack of social skills and the bad vibes I send is one of the reasons for that, so the OP is part of me trying to get to the root of the problem.
This isn't the main source of everything bad going on in my life, of course, but this is part of a general "be/act normal" mentality I've been following in lieu of something better.

Perhaps you should see a therapist about this?
I'm curious about the stalking, OP. How did you decide to start stalking these people?
I used to stalk a couple of people. It was friends, where the relationship had ended badly, and I guess it just felt unresolved. I was always curious what they were doing with their lives.
One was an ex who developed a drug problem and became abusive at the end...after we broke up, I still wanted to know how she was, mostly out of morbid fascination. I was afraid for and of her.
The other was a friend who went through some traumatic stuff, and simply cut off all ties with the social group. I guess I just needed to know how she was doing. It was never a love/attraction thing, just curiosity about what she would do after starting over.

Create a list of ultimate goals. By this I mean you should write down a list of where you want to be a while from now. In your case, it would be:
>Stop watching porn
>Learn how to dress and posture yourself
>Develop better social skills
just go with and take it to the next level.
