By understanding the past is a story you don't have to give power over your now. In the real world no one cares more about your past than you do. Learn to let go of anything that is not useful. Not "repress", relinquish.

Yes, it is, and evolution pisses all over what you might subjectively think is right. Evolution already determined what works including the COMBINATION of things you may not think SHOULD work.

Do you feel guilty about cheating or do you feel guilty because you enjoyed it? I don't mean the sex, but the satisfaction you got from hurting him. Doing bad things to bad people makes you feel good. It's normal. Just carry on if you're happy now, fuck the stigma, if your current boyfriend knows about it he will probably understand why you cheated and won't feel insecure about your past actions since they were triggered by your ex being an asshole.
