It feels like being too nice, makes me some kind of pushover.
I see people stepping over me all the time.
I'm a selfless person at nature. I'm considerate of others, but I often feel like too many people take advantage of that.
I feel like I should just start worrying about myself and forget everyone else, even if it means being an asshole.
advice?

you can be nice without being a pushover

Be an asshole but be inconsistent about it.
I got good with girls once i started roasting them out of nowhere, you have to stablish that you are a good person to keep contact tho. If being an asshole is the only thing people see you doing then no one will be around you.
Being an asshole sometimes is considered banter between friends and couples.
Just try being considerate, nothing too extreme.
Try being more selfish.

Being nice and being a pushover are two separate things. It's a balancing act. You should be nice, but you should not openly trust everyone and you should always know your limits. You need to be able to say 'no' sometimes
That does not require you to be an asshole
>worry about yourself
As greedy as it sounds, you should always come first. You should focus on yourself more than anyone else and you shouldn't throw yourself under the bus just to make others happy. Just do you and don't care what people think
>I'm a selfless person at nature. I'm considerate of others
You seem to be a people pleaser - always a bad trait. You please people to validate this statement so you can tell yourself that you're a good person when you sleep at night, but you shouldn't. Just stop caring what other people think and stop kissing their asses

No need to please people at all.
Fitting in is a joke and you'll notice that there will be that person in the group who doesn't like you at all.

Be an asshole but be nice about it.
Example:
>Be me
>be at party
>Vegans there
>mock said vegans and their views
>they get mad
>they get super drunk
>one qt 3.14 gets too drunk
>passes out
>drag her to a bed and lay her down
>leave water at the side of the bed
>Fuck off and enjoy myself for the rest of the night
>few days later
>be with friend
>"oh yeah anon femanon was saying how kind it was that you helped her.
>"He's a triggering asshole but he's a nice triggering asshole"
>mfw
Don't be an overall "nice guy" girls get that too much. But dont be too much of a prick either.
Trigger them and tell em they're wrong. They love that shit.

Your definition of nice is other people's definition of being a pushover
that's really clearly evidenced by
> I'm considerate of others, but I often feel like too many people take advantage of that.
