Divorce isn't an issue for the upper class. The meme goes, there will be starter wives and then trophy wives, or wives so much into the power of the power couple that will close their eyes to everything the husband does (think Clintons - ofc don't mention them in the paper tho).
The underclass has big problems with single mothers, but that's not because of divorce, they just don't marry. It's more complex than that, but not divorce-related.
The middle class gets screwed by divorce, it brings single motherhood straight from the ghetto to the suburbs. From there, you can go on how breaking up families is bad for the children and kills upper social mobility.

Yes. People feel more willing to just go ahead and get married because they know they can get out of it if they change their minds later.

More often than not, women are the ones who initiate the divorce. Men are more likely to just cheat and stay married. In Asian cultures, women are more "traditional" and dependent on their husbands, so they're less likely to take a stand against him, even if he's a trashy guy. It also brings shame to the family and "muh honor" and all that.
