People are attracted to others comparable to their attractiveness and above.

i.e. a 4/10 guy will probably be attracted to a 4/10 girl, maybe even as low as a 3/10 - and of course all the way up to a 10/10.
The problem is, that the 4/10 girl even though she finds the 4/10 guy attractive - she will shun him because she wants to "reach" and find someone better looking because "they deserve it." She'll probably find some 7/10 guy that has low self esteem and thinks he is a 3/10.
