Most people feel the need for these "invasions" to function properly. For some they feel draining.
This may be due to multiple different reasons: mental illness, insecurity about ones looks/social skills, old experiences in these said situations being unpleasant etc.
It's not something people should judge you for, but they do.
Because this world is a cruel and unforgiving place inhabited by similar people.
