Hi /adv/
I worked for one week at a restaurant, but was fired immediately when I told my boss I'd be unable to work for them past August. I earned about $150 from them at that point.
In my state, the employer gets 15 days to pay an employee after firing them. It's been 15 days today, and no check in the mail. Has anyone ever been in this situation before? Who should I talk to next?
I'm not sure but I'd make damn sure I got my money. If nothing else bad mouth the company of social media. They usually cave especially if they are a local small business.

I had something similar happen to me and had to go to talk to my employer face-to-face to get my check. They can't just keep the money you earned unless you were working under the table.

Something like that happened to a couple of friends of mine. They filed a wage claim and it was taken care of quickly. File a wage claim.
