So I've noticed that the English speaking parts of the world are the worst for this; they're never ok with listening to someone else's problem.
I have Polish friends and if I say 'How are you?' they will talk about something that has affected them. If I ask an English person, they'll always say 'fine' or 'alright', and then if you say something bad back like 'fuck I've been struggling with this', people seem to be shocked or otherwise evasive.
Or this a cultural thing where English speakers abhor expressions?
Here in first world land, we have shrinks and support groups for that kind of talk.

I live in 'first world land', I'm just finding it retarded and backwards that we can't have honest conversations and that our social interactions are reduced to the minimal expectation.

Maybe get friends who care about you then who you are close to. I hope you're not going to random people or people you're not extremely close with and doing this, thats just weird.
