Hey /adv/, I'm looking for job opportunities that don't require a specific degree (can require a degree in general tho), that will get me out of the country. Preferably something short term, like a couple years at a time so I can jump around if I wanted.
I want to really experience life in other countries, not just take a vacation. I'm big on culture studies, I wanna be immersed in another way of life for a couple years to understand it.
I'm already aware of JET and those other "teaching English" opportunities in Asia, since I am an education major anyways I'm gunnin for those first, but I'm curious if there's any other kind of thing like that. Where you can live and work overseas without like, a specific business degree or something. Or if you know of anything that will accept an American education degree I'd take that too. I've considered if all else fails teaching on military bases, but I know nothing about it and it seems kinda daunting to me.
The Peace Corps was formed specifically for people like you.

Isn't that volunteer though? I need to make a living man. I wanna be able to make more than just the minimum to scrape by.

You'll make a living (room & board plus a stipend, and I think a cash payment at the end to help get you settled back in the US). You'll obviously not be making much, but it meets every criteria you listed in your first paragraph.

No. Fuck the Peace Corps. You probably want a nice standard of living right? Work for an international company in a US office and hen transfer to where you want.
In the peace corps you're just going to be assigned to some 3rd word shithole. You can become culturally enriched with Zika that way or you can take the smart way and get a legitimate job, learn an economically useful language, and not have to worry about being a victim of AIDS or radical Islam.

kek Yeah that's more what I'm looking for. But I just find most international companies want a business degree.
Unfortunately I discovered my desires for this too late in the game to change majors. Plus the idea of business, economics, and doing paperwork sound painfully boring to me anyways.
But if they'll accept my degree I'll give anything a go.

English teaching in Korea or other countries are easy gigs to get and they will set you up pretty well. I currently live in Japan..

Are you on with JET or one of the other ones?
I'm in the process of getting my JET paperwork together, if I make it I'll be heading out in 2018. If you are in with JET I'd love individual info on it.
