i had a similar experience, after reading sixty of her books in one year it broke me. now i rarely read. picked up my first book in like 4 years, buffy the vampire slayer adn philosophy.

for everything else i do audio books.

Your interest and/or attention span for anything works kind of like a muscle. You need to exercise it. Even though it'll be difficult at first, regular practice is the trick.

It's okay to start out with only reading a few pages at a time, so long as you do it regularly. Make a habit out of reading every day, stick to it, and gradually increase the number of pages you read per day.

I had a history teacher who read 800 books a year, kept a list of every single book he read and helped the presidential campaigns of 4 different presidents.

He was so fucking eccentric but man he was interesting as fuck.
