Hey, I have this guy I have known for about 5 or 6 years now, he is in college and really doesn't have any friends besides me, therefore he always wants to talk and hang out with me. I feel terribly sorry for him because he is a super autist with no friends and no hope of doing so on his own, but I just dont have the time or effort to keep up with his shit anymore, but I actually think he will become suicidal or extremely depressed if I stop hanging out with him. What do?

you are both insisting that he is your responsibility and that he is not.
which is it?

Well obviously I am conflicted on that point, hence the post on adv
Gotta take of yourself first OP before you can help anyone else. But maybe help him find some new friends? Encourage more social behavior.

any suggestion on how can I help him?
>>17400671
im asking you a question, which is it?
are you personally responsible for this man or not?
>>17400678
no... im not
>>17400675
you know HOW to help him.
the problem is that you are sissyphus, and he is a rock.
>>17400684
Thanks, that really helped
>>17400682
there you go. you are not responsible for him. you have decided that you are not morally responsible for what he does.
therefore the correct answer is to leave him, and simply alert any family he may have of worry.

the problem is you came here for magic. we do not have magic, we have advice.
imagine if you will, that you are him, and we are you.
we are giving you advice oyu know you will not take, because it is not the magic solution.
you cannot magically give him friends. and we cannot magically absolve you of guilt.
you are sissyphus, cursed to constantly push him up the hill despite knowing that he will constantly roll back down, hoping that at the end of the day he just didnt slide down as much as last time.

You're right, I just need the balls to do what i need to do.
>>17400702
and with that you have broken the sissyphus cycle. congrats.
>>17400708
Thanks for giving me the confidence to go through m8, I appreciate it
>>17400709
whyd you delete this post OP?
>>17400725
good luck. just dont forget hte part hwere you warn people if you have to.
keep in mind that you dont have to 'break up' iwth him. you can phase him out and he wont think much of it.

I deleted the post because I realized he was right, and I will try and make it at smooth and seamless as possible, thanks again to you and /adv/
