A relative broke out a $200+ bottle of wine this weekend and well, it was really underwhelming.
It tasted like any other wine.
What's the point of this stuff? Why do people like wine so much? Is there something I'm missing?

It has a special sour taste that doesn't overwhelm the taste of good food. I only drank wine with good food in the beginning so I guess it started to have some very positive associations for me. Now the price doesn't really matter, just go with what you like. There are many wine experts with a couple of favorites is in the midrange or lower.
