Open recycle bin or just get them off your backup.
oh wait, you didn't back them up.
sucks to be you

obliterate his most cherished thing

With an experienced tech, you can get all of it back.
As long as you don't download or delete anything else.

Restart the computer files to have it a week ago.
I forgot the specific name, but certainly got me out of several tizzies when i uninstalled hard to understand apps :o

Yeah, a system restore actually. I hope your bro didn't go in like rubbing a magnet to the hard drive either

Download a data recovery software and ditch the fucker.
Download and try using active@ undelete or Kroll Ontrack.
If in doubt pay for data recovery if the photos mean a lot to you.
Always keep a backup somewhere in the future.
Don't save anything new to the hdd, get some recovery software and get it back. It's surprisingly easy

Write as little data as possible to the hd. Run recuva. Restore most files under4gb which should be most of your pictures. Not to many files are bigger than 4gb which is the biggest chunk of data must raid configs can write onto the hard drive.
Use Recuva (software)
Do system restore
???
PROFIT!!!
>also when you get a hold of his phone, do a factory restore on it

Get recovery software. Also in the future get an external drive for that stuff. Least that's what I do.
