its possible, but running off to a new city where you have no contacts without any money is more likely to end with you being homeless, and that's a trap that's near impossible to get out of since no one will hire you without an address, not to mention clean clothes and basic hygiene.

If you want to escape your current living situation and make a clean break a much better route would be to join the military. You'll have a job, food, clothing, and lodging guaranteed. When you get out you'll have some money and work experience.
