Yes I know this is pretty much a self answering question but I still wonder is there something games can offer that might have any benefit from?If there is no point in them I will stop them but want to see if there is something to them that I might be missing.
Entertainment? The point of video games isn't accomplishments, it's just for fun. Unless they're taking over a majority of your time I don't see what's wrong with gaming as a hobby.
Nothing wrong with playing video games bud. But,if you want me to be honest I replaced video games with exercise and music and I feel better for it. I lost 100 lbs and can improvise for days on the guitar. That helps with women alot more. Personally I don't even touch video games anymore unless it's a big title like fallout 4.

Ps. my love for rpgs as a teenager really helped me with working out. I got my fitness pal and looked at it like a personal stat menu. I viewed lifting like grinding and eating like item management.

Games are fine as a break and as entertainment, although other forms are more productive. You could read, or start watching documentaries on a subject that interests you for example. I don't know how old you are or how much you play, so you won't get much more help than from Anons above.
Games aren't totally useless, but mostly. Some games are very mathematically challenging or exercise your logic skills. But if you're spending 5 hours per day on a first person shooter, you're wasting your life.
