So when I was young i used to see people walking around the house that weren't real, they were fully black and had no facial features. I lived with my mother, she was known for being the local drunk/idiot and as a result i had no friends at all. I would talk to these two black and white "women" in my head quite frequently. Soon this habit or whatever died off, but now i have this one voice which I have semi control over. Sometimes the voice doesn't shut-up no matter how hard I focus and occasionally it keeps me up at night although I have come to live with it. i also struggle to control what I'm saying as a result of the voice every now and then. Do you guys know what this is or do any of you experience it as well?

is this 'voice' a bunch of rapid strong thoughts or do u literally hear it senpai
Just relax. Try to understand yourself.
A bit of both, but more strong rapid thoughts than anything.
sorry that I'm really shit at this stuff, I lurk and never really post

you need to relax a lot, and start making an active effort to talk to more people in real life on a more regular basis. These will help you a lot.

I impulsively shaved off all of my hair recently until pick related and I dont really know why, like without sounding like an edgy twat am I right in the head or is this just a normal thing everyone experiences?
it is probably a mental illness or a neurological disorder. my husband sometimes has similar things to what you are describing, and he has schizoaffective disorder. he takes medication for it (seroquel) and it helps him a lot.
go to a doctor and tell them what you're experiencing. make sure they check you out thoroughly. if they send you to a specialist like a neurologist or a psychiatrist, make sure you actually go and see the specialist.
if you go to multiple doctors and nobody can figure out what's wrong with you, as in they *ALL* say "you're completely sane, you have no mental illness, you don't have brain cancer, we have no idea wtf is going on" then there's a 99-100% probability that your brain just does weird shit for whatever unknown reason. doctors don't understand every single thing about the brain.
as for the 0-1% probability: I do have a friend who hears voices and who has been to doctors, has no sign of mental illness, tumours, or any kind of neurological thing. out of all the thousands of people I've met in my 38 years, she is one of only two people who I suspect miiiiiight actually be communicating with spirits. but you should never consider that a possibility unless you have seen multiple medical doctors and mental health professionals and nobody has an explanation. if you go to a shrink and he says "you have schizophrenia lol" then please don't sit there and go "BUT MAYBE ITS GHOSTS" just because you don't want to take your fucking meds.
regardless of the cause, however, OP you should go to hearing-voices.org and check it out. it's a site for people who hear voices for *any* reason, and you can probably find some stuff there to help you cope while you figure out what's going on.
TL:DR
could be lots of things, see a doc
go to hearing-voices.org and get educated
good luck OP

there's two types of people on this board lol
have any of you guys ever had anything like this? I highly doubt that I'm actually mentally ill but i just want to make sure
>>17386009
Oh, and thanks for the advice. ill check that site out
Avoid any drugs or alcohol like the plague; coffeine too. Try to ignore the voice instead of shutting it, learn to accept it is not real and you don't care. If you focus too hard on shutting it, it will keep coming back harder, as your brain will associate it with a dopamine release upon removal.
Get medical help.p

yeah I don't drink, but after the occasional few drinks I get pretty bad nightmares from but I assume that's just coincidence

I have; read on intrusive thoughts. And drop the spirit bullshit, it wont help you if you have an actual problem. As said, try to take it easy and avoid paying the voices (and wacky ideas, like shaving off your hair) too much attention.

Excuse my inability to type like a normal person im kind of tired.

Any of those substances can trigger dormant brain disorders. Your brain is a funny thing, gotta treat it well.

I just read about the symptoms and I match up with quite a few of them, so thanks for mentioning this possibility - might have a further look into it.

You're welcome. Try not to get too focused on your problem amd do stuff to put your mind to work. Seek medical help if the problem does persist. Good luck!
Thankyou all, this is my first thread as I previously mentioned I lurk quite a lot. But you guys have really helped me to try and understand what could (possibly) be up with my thoughts. so again, thankyou
