Please no judgement, this has been torturing me for the last year and a half.

So, after I graduated college, I was so scared of finding a job that I end up procrastinating for a year.

I graduated from a reputable (I think) college on December 2014 with a Bachelor's Statistics and CompSci, and for the whole year of 2015, all I've been doing is basically look for a job online, read the description, and then imagine/visualize what my CV/cover letter would look like IF I applied for that job, and then just not apply at all.

Finally, at the end of 2015, I applied for a warehouse job and got it. The manager and coworkers were very cool people, but I left that job at the end of April 2016 because of a start-up project that I'm working on with some friends and also because of school (I went back to school just fill some gaps and gain some knowledge, I am currently taking some Master's level courses, but I probably won't pursue a Master's degree).

Now, I'll cut to the chase, I only have 2 important questions to ask:

1) How to get over the fear of looking for a job?

Basically it feels like the moment you find a job you'll get stuck in an office from 9-5 for the rest of your life, and that there will be no more elements of "unpredictability". So it kind of feels like the rest of your life will be written out for you the moment you find a "real" job, it is at that moment when you find out your purpose in this world, and it is very scary.

2) How do I explain my year gap?

Suppose that I do get an interview some day and when the interviewer asks for my year gap, what would be a good answer in this case? Saying I had depression is definitely bad. Maybe health issues? Sounds kinda bad as well... Maybe just say I worked some temp jobs here and there?

I welcome any advice you guys give me. It is highly appreciated that you took the time to understand my situation and I am immensely grateful.

I live in Canada by the way

1) How to get over the fear of looking for a job?

Stop being a bitch and just start applying. Yes when you get a "real job" you will probably be stuck in an office from 9-5 with a safe predictable job, but anon you picked a safe predictable major. You don't major in comp sci and stats to go travel the world; unless you are exceptional but you don't seem exceptional. you picked majors that were safe and had a high chance for employment.

2) How do I explain my year gap?

After college I wanted to travel and see the country. I spent some time connecting with my family and gaining life experience. Do not mention depression, health issues etc. Spin it positively. I took a gap year and it didn't affect my future employment at all, I basically said the above if they brought it up.
