Hey there, I just completely my first year of school and am at an odds to what specific career path I should take. There are a couple that stick out in my mind, however I wanted to get some feedback if at all possible based off my circumstances.
I'm currently in a three year diploma program focused specifically on programming, have a good GPA and the potential to transfer into university if I get a couple more math credits under my belt. Odds are I'll just graduate with the diploma, but if I find I really need to go to university for what I want then I'll probably do it.
Currently I'm considering systems development for Android or some sort of job as a Database Developer. I'm leaning towards DD because it might be an easier job to get with just a diploma, however I'm more interested in working with phones and primarily with OOP programming languages vs things like SQL.
I figure that now is a good time to have a solid path figured out, but again I'm not sure which would be best given the current job market and my credentials. Not to mention that I likely don't have a full understanding of the jobs available in such a broad market.

go for what you like.

What are you passionate about? Do that. If database development makes your dick hard, fucking do it. If you're only doing it because it's the easier job to get with your diploma, you're going to end up throwing yourself in front of a bus later on.
I would just say to do all of them. Become a full-stack developer.
I think you have the wrong mindset at the moment. You seem to think that school will teach you everything there is to know about programming, then you'll get a job. If you don't live and breathe this stuff you'll hate your life.
