When I get in tough situations I fake myself being brave. I take it as a game where I can use a strategy to win through it.
Know your limits. If you bite off more than you can chew don't stress and panic, take it one step at a time, it won't last forever
Be aware of the present moment and view how powerful your current thoughts/emotions can pull you into negative thinking cycles. This outlook has helped me deal with all forms of heightened emotion.

I also just try and think about how in the grand scheme of my life, trials and tribulations like this can be made small. Keep moving, and eventually things will fall into place if you guide them as best you can.
Weed is nice
Internet forums feel like a replacement for real social interaction by triggering a surge of serotonin in your brain. But you end up feeling like a social retard because you don't actually interact with people.

It's not even that great of an advice and it wasn't suppose to be applied to life as a whole, however, whenever I feel insecure I remind myself of it and suddenly my insecurity is gone.
