how am I supposed to find work without work experience, a degree or even a licence in a city like Los Angeles? I hate being a leech on my family. I'm an Embarrassment to my family.

I'm assuming you're for some reason holding yourself above washing dishes.
lower your standard of yourself and apply to mcdonalds.
working there at least 6 - 12 months will give you enough experience to skip over into another job. yeah, probably another shitty job, but every beginner job has it's pros and cons.
if you start working in retail, i suggest being as good as you can be, and try to get trained in special areas so you can use those to get better jobs.
honestly, you just have to start from the bottom and work yourself up. working at mcdonalds might mean you're a fucking loser, but everyone starts somewhere, and you'll have money for once. just go and do it anon
