I think my dad might be in a coma.
He was awake about an hour ago but now he's sleeping, snoring and didn't even respond to water on his hand.
I believe he had some medicine that makes him sleep, but he's never slept so deeply before.
What should I do? Call the ER or wait it out?

People don't go into coma while going to sleep, do they?
else we won't call sleep sleep.
we will call them mini coma
Wait it out, or just keep trying to wake him up

I'll take your word for it.

Why risk it?
Is it more important to wait it out then?

Does he have any medical conditions? Has he been drinking or using drugs? What medication is he taking? Is he breathing normally?
Sleeping pills can knock you the fuck out. Safely, mind you, but it can be hard to wake up. Sometimes this is normal, but I can't tell why you are concerned.
If you're truly concerned something's wrong (i.e. he's having trouble breathing or he's overdosed or something) here's what you do:
1.) Yell in his face "DAD! WAKE UP!"
If he doesn't respond,
2.) take your knuckles and rub them hard against his sternum (breastbone) like you're trying to work out a knot in a muscle.
And if that doesn't wake him up, you need to call 911 and tell them your father is unconscious and unresponsive to verbal or painful stimuli.

He's sleeping and snoring. He's not in a coma. Water doesn't wake you up. Wait it out unless he's completely nonresponsive and doesn't seem to be breathing.
