For school. Have some money saved and will get student loans. Due to the lack of funds I am going to sell my furnature and bulky shit here, ship most things via Amtrak, pack the rest in a rental car and go. In LA I'll use the rental to get to IKEA or a thrift store or whatever and buy new furniture.

Anyone have advice for the following?

1) Good rental car deals for one-way crosscountry trips? I believe I have AAA.
2) Best way to sell my mostly-IKEA furniture at home?
3) Best way to move my small vinyl record collection?

Thanks

Its gonna cost a hell of a lot to drive all the way to LA in a rental car. I would travel by train. It would probably take longer but you're able to sleep, study, eat, and see scenery on the train.

Then I'll have a ton of stuff that will cost more to sell/replace (as there seems to be no viable method of shipping that doesn't kill your wallet) than the rental car. Also bringing a bro with me who wants to visit their dad in LA and will help me move shit. So I'm sticking with renting a car.

Don't spend more on moving shit across country than the shit is worth. That's just stupid. Get rid of your stuff, store your records with friend or family who won't charge you, then just go. Pack light. Get all your furniture from a place that deals in used stuff and delivers.
I've moved many many times, and I know what I'm talking about.
