What does the squiggle mean? Please and thank you.
Vibrate your fretting hand just a little bit. Not quite a bend. Just add some vibrato to that.
>But the open string!
Don't worry my child. That string will vibrate ever so slightly as well.

That's the part of the song that this bar is from. It might be me, but I don't hear any vibrato.
the squiggle stands for arpeggio.

What does that mean, exactly? I'm a total beginner.
it means you have to play one note after the other rather then simultaneously.

Not that guy but its a roll. Like that guy said its basically and arpeggio. Play all the notes in the squiggle on the drop or the beat but arpeggiated. It has to be done usually really fast depending on bpm. Listen to Bachs goldberg varation (the first Aria) and you'll hear the arpeggiated G7 chord shown by the squiggle.
argh, 'than', not 'then', of course
I got my answer from /mu/. This phrase is derived from a similar one that repeats throughout the song where you just pick the 5th string (pic related). It looks like I just strum both notes with my thumb for the OP one.
Thanks for your help.
How do I learn to read this shit?
I've never really been interested in the foundations behind music but I've got nothing better to do
