It's not just unhealthy but downright dangerous. My mate once edged himself five times a day every day for a whole week. When he eventually nutted his bellend popped off the end of his stem and flew across the room like a champagne cork It ended up embedded in the wall and he had to spend an hour with a pair of pliers to pry it back out of the masonry.
