Friends make the most objective decisions but they don't have to factor in emotions and your feelings. Parents are probably the best unless they're some sort of 3 time divorced and a smattering of half siblings then I wouldn't ask them for a dog food brand.
Grampy bone always gave solid advice.
Life.
All of those may be shitty. And people who put a lot of conviction in their advice aren't necessarily the ones with the best advice.
It really depends on who's giving you advice, so I would say anyone not online (3-4-5-6-7) might give good advice, or bad advice, but at least you can see if following their advice generally leads you to better life choices, and if not, stop following their advice.
Internet, in my opinion, will give you advice of a random quality, since it is almost always a different, new person who gives you the advice, thus removing any possibility to 'test' their advice.
Of course, you should always check any advice against your reasoning. When asking for advice, don't only ask people what to do. Ask for the logic behind the advice. Then decide for yourself.
Also, avoid asking too many people for advice. You'll end up with many conflicting opinions, and still have no idea who to listen to. Think back on who usually gives you advice which result in a good situation, and listen to them.

Counsellors, usually. Second is friends, since they know you well enough to give specific advice.
/adv/ is great because you're going to get opinions from all walks of life. If you go to some self help forum, you're going to be dealing with people that more or less share your issues. And you'll normally get a timely response here. That said, we're at a disadvantage of never really knowing all the details to any given problem, either by the poster's lack of awareness or deliberate avoidance. But family and friends might not want to give you some hard truths. So they all have their ups and downs. Whatever you do, it's important to keep an open mind and clear head and weigh your options

5. You just have to know how to reason from basics and what you truly want deep down, not what society wants you to want.
