You can get friends anywhere by just joining an interest group or church or social club or something. They're a dime a dozen. I don't really have any friends and I"m perfectly happy. Online gaming and shitposting fulfills virtually all of my social desires. I wouldn't worry about that.

However at 35 you are starting to fall off of your peak in terms of desirability to a sexual partner. You'd better start working out, eating properly, and dating. I would recommend online dating websites such as okcupid, because they're easy and fun to do and can sort of get you out of a rut. It's not terribly hard to get pussy from sites like these.

Don't look for people. Look for things to do. People will follow.

Join a club. Join a church. Join a gym. Do volunteer work. Go to concerts, museums, clubs. Take a "useless" class (art appreciation, cooking, etc) at a community college.

You'll be in the company of people doing the same thing, so you automatically have something in common. It will be natural to chat, go out for a drink after, plan activities.
