I also happen to have chest and belly hair. I actually shaved it a few times. Since I'm a few pounds "overweight" I just looked like a hairless mole.
Now I'm in a relationship with a chick who digs it, feels fucking great.
So bottom line here : do whatever you want to do, leave it, shave it, as long as it suits you and your potential partners.
