Just a CNA here, but it's possible. Are you male or female? How is your personal care? Diet, activity level? Any other symptoms? Low grade fever, nausea, dizziness? Has the pain remained in the pain in the same position? Are you in the states? Medicaid is retroactive. If you decide to go to the er you can apply for it afterwards and it should cover it. If not, and you're young enough to let it go to collections, do that, or you can work out payment plans with facilities. There's always options, OP.

thank you for the reply, male, take care of myself typically, lead a mostly sedentary life though which I know is bad, diet is decent.
no fever, nausea, etc. just a pain in that area, it has remained there and not moved.
I am not in the states, or in any country with socialist(?) healthcare.

Monitor the area and your symptoms over the next couple of days. If it moves, increases in severity, or if the area becomes hard and inflamed, or you start sweating, get chills, or lose appetite/have nausea, then get to a doctor. If you're able to score a few precautionary antibiotics, do so. How does it feel when you're active? Does it come and go or is it consistent?

Otherwise it could be kidney stones, a uti, a soft tissue wound you don't recall sustaining. Drink some fluids, take some fiber, do some light activities, at the very least do some stretches to improve circulation, and maybe avoid fatty foods for a bit.

how does it feel when I'm active? fine typically. feels like a pulled muscle or an air pocket kind of. it's more of a concerning feeling than a painful one. I think I am just overreacting, as I have had it for three days already and from what I've read the appendix typically ruptures 12-36 hours after symptoms start, seems I'm past that window and haven't had any significant pain spikes
will definitely be taking a walk, drinking more water, and doing all such things to get healthy. will visit emergency if the pain gets really bad or I develop nausea/fever.
