It depends. You SHOULD have the last word, or rather, there shouldn't be an argument about it in the first place, only a discussion. But that applies to serious decisions, not on what you should eat tonight.

If she asks for sushi, just let her eat sushi. And then next time eat whatever you want. If you want to eat pizza and she wants to eat sushi, but you always get what you want you're not calling the shots, you're just a selfish asshole.

If she said you 2 don't fit give her some time (one or 2 days) and then ask her if she was serious when she said that. If she says yes just break up, nothing good will come out of insisting. Either way, ask her what bothered her about you, for future reference if nothing else.

Compromise is a normal part of a relationship. Apparently you think that because you are male, you get to make all the choices. Not many women will agree to live in a position where all of their choices are made for them. Think about it- would you want to be in a relationship where you never got your way ever?

So, if you're basically either 1) sexist because you believe that you are superior than women inherently and should therefore get your way, or 2) egotistical and think you should get your way because you are better.

You have two options.
1) look for a woman who agrees with your mindset and "fits" with you- there are very few of these but they do exist.
2) change your mindset and learn to compromise. This will expand you number of potential partners greatly.

If you really are sexist or whatever, the you need to be open about it from the get go or else this will happen again- where a woman likes you until she finds out that you don't respect her the same way that she respects you.

In any givenvironment proposition in a relationship, two open minded people will say yes. One assertive for the proposition and one open minded person will both say yes. One open minded person and one stubborn person will result in the stubborn person saying no to the proposition and killing it. One assertive person for the proposition and one stubborn person will result in a No and a big fight and possibly a break up.

So what is the lesson. In any partnership, the person who is most close minded and most stubborn holds the most power. The lesson is to be open minded and find a partner that is open minded.
