How does one overcome body issues?
When I got married, I weighted way les (I was never a slim guy to begin with). I was doing powerlifting and competing, but I was not giant block of fat, YET. I was one of those big built chubby dudes.
More or less pic related.
I got promoted tho(several times), and iwth the promotions, came the more responsibilities, more stress, a lot more flying (I am an IT security consultant), a lot more skipped workouts, a lot more business lunches where I could not eat my own cooked food.
Now I can see I have grown to be a fatass.
My bank account increased exponentially along with my stomach and with my self-resent.
I still do workout quite a lot, but not nearly as much as before and I frankly do not have the time and the energy /after flying to USA from Europe and back, twice in a week I want to sit and die in front of the TV with some whiskey.../.
Meanwhile my wife was always super fit and remained so. She always had abs and was low body fat, which did not botter me in the beggining (when I was PL competing), but now I am starting to become super insecure watching myself next to her with my huge stomach.
I have also grown to be a lot more jealous because of that, with all those ripped guys everywhere around her and me now being a fatso.
I know losing it is the easiest way, but that would mean quitting my job (for which I busted my ass 8 years before...) and I really LOVE MY JOB.
I completely don't know how to proceed and I can see my wife growing concerned with me.

No it doesn't mean that.
Just eat less, and you will lose weight as well.

Cut your calories to 1500 ckal a da for a while. and little workout will be more than enough.

Don't do this, OP. Work out your BMR, multiply it by 1.3, and then subtract 500. Replace any additional calories lost through exercise at a 1:2 ratio.

I know I should eat less, but this well affect my only hobby left(the remnants of my lifting career). And frankly the only thing that relaxes me. I tried cutting carbs and the few times I went to work out I felt like this after heavier work...
I used to go daily to train before and probably ate more than now. Now I barely make it 2-3 times a week and try to maintain my lifts, not progress.
So I guess the question at the end of the day is, how do I convince myself that my marrige and work is more important than some bench/deadlift/squat number?

What can you impress with? Plenty of NEs around./I am not even commenting the MS "network engineers"/. Your career path is one of the hardest to break into infosec from. Also what kind of job do you exactly want to do - I guess you want to pen test?

You can absolutely lift on a SMALL deficit. 500 calories under is very doable, especially if you carb load before workouts. What you need to do is put in the time to research your needs. Figure out your actual calorie needs, figure out what you're actually burning during work outs and replace those calories if you need to, and let yourself live at a modest deficit. I'm cutting right now and still maintaining about 15 miles a week of running and 3-4 serious lifting sessions. I know what my workouts are burning and I'm replacing those calories. Its not even that restrictive. My maintenance right now is around 2900, so if I don't do shit I'm aiming to eat about 2400 a day. If I run 800 calories off I'll eat 3200 and still be at a net 500 calorie deficit.

Do the research, count the calories, and be smart about it.

Also, I don't know how old you are, but if you're over 30 you should strongly consider doing a SARMs cycle like six or eight weeks of Ostatine and Ligandrol with a light PCT afterwards like Nolvadex. I'm in my 30s and had a plateau a few months back that I just couldn't push through. Doing one cycle brought my body fat down 6% without much in the way of net weight loss and helped me push through that plateau and reestablish my routine.
