It's not really about race, it's about social class. You will blend in if you have a middle class occupation.

Similarly the poor-white-kid underclass are on the same level as refugees.

well I consider myself someone with manners, I speak the local language well and my English is rusty but I can also handle it.

The language should not e a problem because italian isn't too hard if you already speak portoguese. Anyway in italy many people are pretty racist but their hate is usually focused on islamics and dark skinned people. If you are going to move there choose Rome or Milan because people from those cities are more open.(Any 500k+ city should be fine tho)
