Right now I work at an office. I went to college for awhile, but I couldn't settle on a major, so I floundered long enough to not get financial aid anymore..

As a happy person, I imagine living in a house in a city where it is overcast a lot, having a job that I don't show up to and immediately start counting down the hours until I can leave, having a life outside of work, and a person in my life that doesn't despise me..I guess.

It's hard to say without any specifics of your situation. Personally, I think it's a bad idea to compare yourself to others. People are always going to talk about the best aspects of their life without all of the negatives that goes along with it. Identify your problems first. In more detail. I'm not in your kind of situation less but I'm depressed and had to defeat laziness 3 years ago to not hurt those around me.

This helped me a lot. I think whatever your problem is identifying why you don't have motivation is good. It's not that you don't understand your goals I'd imagine. You could get educated on your spare time for instance. Now that's a lot of effort. You need motivation. Find something similar to find your motivation. People in youtube videos that yell at you only works about 10 minutes.

Dunno if it helps but its my attempt.

What were you doing for all these years?

take some calculated risks
for instance if you have an abundance of a resource (money, time, raw materials) try using them in different ways
you may find a new hobby or passion
or you may find you hate that particular thing
either way you'll learn something about yourself
this may sound like a phone on advice but if you have nothing else going for you with you have to lose
