If nobody sought out child pornography there would be no reason (or at least a greatly diminished reason) to distribute it. With no reason to distribute it, those abusers who would make child pronography wholey or partly to make money, encouraged by the demand created by the viewers, would have no incentive (or at least diminished incentive) to do so.

That male rhino, is under severe threat because there is always someone out there who would kill him for his horn and make a killing selling it to one of the people who is willing to buy, and then rhinos would be completely extinct in the wild.

Some child was harmed in the making of all child pornography. And by consuming it, you are creating a demand for it. By creating a demand, you are encouraging supply of it.

Child pornography is wrong. You can't help your fetishes and what you are attracted to but you can CERTAINLY realize that your fetish is harmful to others and seek help.

I can't believe this eve needs to be said but people capturing murder by accident on in some sort of event or execution is completely different from children who are molested for someone else's entertainment and money. If people were being killed on camera for the entertainment of others then it would be comparable. It's child PORNOGRAPHY, it's made with the intention of being distributed. By watching it you contribute to the demand of CP, meaning more kids getting abused. We don't record people getting murdered and sell it, those do do are breaking the law too. All in all if it's not real (lolis,comics,drawings,3d animation) it's okay because nobody is getting hurt to produce the material. Not at all alike - rape fantasies can be (and almost always are) produced without actually raping or otherwise harming anyone. There is no way to produce child pornography (unless it's drawn/animated, these ones don't need to be illegal in my opinion) without molesting children. It's amazing that I need to explain this difference.

Anyway, arguments about supply/demand aside, child porn should absolutely be illegal because, while I sympathize with decent people who have the misfortune of being afflicted with this urge, you have to be a piece of shit to enjoy real child porn, as you are taking pleasure in the actual rape of children. And doing so makes you enough of a threat to children to justify putting you away, because there is extremely little difference between indirectly enjoying the rape of children, and directly enjoying it.
