I know that from a statistical viewpoint worrying is dumb as fuck, but with all the stuff that you hear lately and coupled with the fact that tomorrow is new year's eve, I can't help it. And it's not even the first time that I take a plane dammit.

I dont sleep the night before flying so that by the time I board I will immediately fall asleep in my seat.
I developed this habit after I've lived on an island and had this paranoid thought it would one day fall into the seas.

Some people would say drinking before flying to loosen your nerves, but considering compressed cabin = dehydration + alcohol = more dehydration = not good.
I just make sure I fall asleep and if I'm on a long flight, that I have all my favourite snacks with me so I can wake up cozy. Anything that will distract my mind from the fact that I'm in the air.

a lot of people get prescription relaxation meds from their doc before flying. its apparently legal for them to write a prescription for just 2 or 3 pills for a flight.

that being said, all other meds are legal as well. if you take a melatonin before going on it will relax you and maybe even put you to sleep.

if you REALLY cant do it, take some nyquil, just have someone there to pick you up and help you off the plane after, depending on flight time.

if its not too long just drink a beer or two. they offer them before and often during the flight cuz its an easy way to relax.
