How do you deal with loneliness? Be it temporary or long term

Frequent local businesses. I love it when I go to the local coffee shop, and literally everyone says "Look who it is!" It's a wonderful feeling. Made a bunch of friends this way, by frequenting local places. Plus, when you get a boyfriend, take him to these places, and he'll see not only that you know the city sell, but that you're really interesting and have stories to tell

Hobbies. Work out, find something that interests you, keep focused on school/work.

Not OP, but this is the problematic part for me. You can't just cure loneliness by getting a gf. If you go out looking for a relationship, you will ONLY get into some of the worst, most shallow ones possible. This is because to join the dating scene, people generally can't be themselves, or else you'll get no catch.

It's like when I'm lonely, I just sit around waiting for "that big break", which is of course kind of like waiting to win the lottery, but with a higher success rate.

There's nothing to do but to take one's mind off of it by trying new hobbies and activities. That might be fine and all, and might even work for some people, but there's still nights where you can't sleep too well, and boring shifts at work, when it's all I can think about. When that happens too often, it gets me depressed with a feeling of doom and destroys my motivation for days on end.

Just do your shit, achieve something, live your life, dont care about others, cuz in the end you are the one who dies and your "friends" wont help you...
