I do quite a few private commissions and I don't charge more as a rule. I think if I really liked the piece I might ask if they were SURE I'm not allowed to post it. But honestly I'm not that fussed.

So I try to withdraw some money from paypal but after 12 days they fuck me over and said the transition cant be made and more than half of the amount I sent disappear (i guess due to my bank or paypal's fee)
So apparently it could be

Was for a friend so he paid the friend price of 70 bucks but I can't do them for that low.
As I said, I have to quote people for their idea.
Things can widely vary in complexity depending on the pose, angle, length, number of moving characters... etc etc.
As a rule of thumb, expect 100 per second of animation (12 fps, loops don't count) in b/w and 150 for colour.

If the artist says they can afford lower prices via bargaining/negotiation, it means they are simply attempting to gain a wider consumer-base who would have never commissioned them based on solid pricing otherwise. Just don't be insulting when you "negotiate" by offering half of what the artist normally charges. Have the highest number you want to pay in mind, then work your way down as low as you think would be reasonable.

And yes, two moving characters would cost more.
Still it really depends one what you're asking.
Take that animation as example.
If the wolf was slightly moving to make it like he wasn't some sort of statue, I wouldn't ask as much as if he was thrusting through her pussy like a madman and ragdolling her through the frame.

Otherwise the are storysites out there, but hard to contact an author for commissions, or for authors themselves to put commission info. I think that's one of the big weaknesses writers and readers deal with. Alot of story sites have total shit UIs vs regular art sites, and alot of writers have zero clue how to market themselves. The regular reader has a short attention span so try to clarify what you're trying to do or even write about. fimfiction and sofurry do a great job on a UI for fiction writing, but writing.com and various other sites (DA especially) are total shit.

Favorites, I haven't thought much about. I've mostly written simple, lighthearted and straightforward stuff, with a lot of it being related to monstergirls. Stuff that usually turns out like the text-version of a vanilla one-stop doujin. So I suppose a favorite is just simple porn plots.

Refusals...well, as the above might attest, I'm not find of darker material, so gory, violent works, rape and stuff you would probably need look elsewhere. Potentially I could try that stuff, but honestly the inexperience might affect the quality, and so forth.

I'll try to find a way to post some examples of some simpler stuff I've done when I can; stuck away from my stores at the moment.

It depends on your wallet size.
If money is no object, you can buy a wacom cintiq or wait for that fancy Microsoft surface studio to come out.
If you buy a normal tablet, I'd advise buying one that's the closest to the size of the screen you're using.
As for the programs, you'll start a war depending on where you ask this but Photoshop is a good and very powerful all-around program.
If you don't want to pirate it or don't have the money, I think most people use Sai instead of it.

Like everyone said, get a tablet. Smaller cheaper ones are good for getting a feel for the programs but you have to fix it in case the ratio of the screen and tablet are different. Cintiqs help smoothly transition you from analogue to digital without the disorientation of not seeing what your hand is doing. Those are expensive though and the more you pay the better your hardware. There are cintiq screens that hook up right to computers and cintiqs that can act on their own as tablet computers. I haven't seen anything that can compete with cintiq. Paint tool Sai is a cheap program, and it is a lot simpler with more focus on the illustration side of digital art. There are a lot of tools that make Photoshop stand out that can be very helpful for taking shortcuts. The two work very well in tandem. I say start with Sai and work your way through what Photoshop can do. And get a tablet you can afford. They all work fine, just know cintiq is end game.

If you can't afford a Cintiq, Huion offers good alternatives. They have some colour issues but other than that they're really good. There are tons of alternatives for tablet monitors if you can't afford a Cintiq though, just google "Cintiq alternatives" and you'll find tons. Regular tablets are great as well if you can handle not seeing your hand on your drawing, but if you animate anything it's much easier if you can see your hand IMO because it's easier to do inbetweens.

I've started to finally wind down on them, but when I first started commissioning people after finding styles and prices I liked, it was tough choosing from a myriad of ideas and characters, and who should be doing what.

It still is, really, you might end up wanting a specific act or character done, but can't figure out the other half for a while.

Looking for a colorist. I'll be honest, this is for a side thing so I need to be cheap about it. I'm thinking $10 to $15 per picture on a weekly basis. Yup. I tweak a few things here and there but the basic poses are traced. Its part of the reason why I don't charge much. I do it to get better at doing original poses.

It's very much true that bad shading can ruin otherwise great art. Looking as your stuff, I wouldn't order anything you've shaded, and likely not pay for flat colors since I'm more than capible of that myself. (busted computer notwithstanding)

I'm not a great teacher, so the best I can do is suggest looking up tutorials by those who focus in more anime styles, as those provide better basis for decent shading moro often than those who dedicate themself in west comicbook hero styles.

New to the board, I could take a couple of commissions, will do pretty much everything but explicit gore, prices are 5 per lines, 15 for a character with simple background, each extra character 5 ( cybertronians 10, too much detail.)
