Mother of god I hate centipedes, so checking reference images for how their legs attach and how many joints they have etc was an experience!
All in all though, I kinda like how she turned out and this may be the best way to overcome my weird phobias!!

Like I guess if it's just a really easy simple pose of a naked character, it can go as low as 15. if it's two people fucking in a weirdass pose that you have to describe to me because you can't find an example of it, that could be as much as 30. More if they're wearing weird complex outfits.

Do you actually help with the designing? so a person needs only have a drawing, not a 3d model? because making those, making the joints work, that requires a kind of engineering knowledge very few of us have.. and if we did, we could probably go to someone else and not need to pay you (though it still costs a lot)
How's the plastic? The last time I checked in on this shit, it was some years ago (jeez, has it been a decade?), and a guy had 3d printed his own custom zoid. The plastic was kinda cruddy. Has it improved yet?

look at a japanese garage kit site sometime and you'll see this is often middle tier quality, and they typically hand sculpt the originals.

It's far easier to design limbs for dedicated joints than it is to make integrated ones, and the results are better.

In addition, there are other ways to produce parts, like the classic silicon mold casting. Some 3D printers can even handle different kinds of printing media, such as softer plastics, which when printed hallow can be somewhat squishy.

Yes, I can indeed tell by just looking. Every joint that can be seen looks bad. The knees have the same issue as the elbows, wrists have huge gaps in the hands, thighs are thrust forward at the hip attachment.

Ball and socket joints are also not great design in general, as sockets are easy to defect in tightness, ball stems can snap easily and not easily fixed, and the joints in general don't support poses very well. Exposed ball and socket joints arent good looking either, it's why they're typically sheathed by an outer shell; on a hip-thigh connection, you wouldn't be able to see the socket's flex gaps with more intelligent construction.

Hello brothers!

I am seeking two artists to join a project. This is a Rev-Share opportunity.

Originally from /STG/ /WEG/ I have come seeking a new artist(s) to join my small but growing team. These team made of programmers, writers, music producers and BG artists now require a new character artist(s) to further push our game towards completion.

This game is being made on a unique engine designed for the game, with its own unique gameplay elements. It will be at heart, a /weg/ with a difference. In total, there will be over 50 (target) playable characters, plus further npcs. There will be approx 54 music tracks. There will be a *insert number here >100* load of CGs. This is a big project that is currently being undertaken; and unlike most other junior projects - this one is actually being made as we speak.

This is your opportunity to join the team, and if successful, help produce a demo that will be released across the interwebs. This demo will allow us to fund (grab some moneyz) to finish the game. Of any and all income from any and all sources, you will receive a percentage agreed upon before starting minus any fees/taxes. (Example - Steam sales hit 10k, you have 5% agreed. Steam takes 30% leaving 7k, your 5% would thus equal 350 units of currency - The same would work with kickstarter/patreon).

The game will have two different release versions. A more polite PG-13 version which will be aimed for a steam release, and an 18+ patch that will change certain CGs/characters scenes around.

The game itself has a massive design plan, with a huge amount of work already gone into/going on now with it. It is a hobby project for many of us, as we all tend to work full time or study and thus can only spend a few hours a week upon this project, however our skills and knowledge within the genre has allowed for a massive increase in progress.

Progress expected from a character artist is reasonable, roughly a character a fortnight; or quicker if possible. One week to sketch, and another to colour/expressions. This is the rough expected and hoped for speed of progress from a character artist. Our previous character artist completed 2 line arts which were fantastic, however he joined in July and its now towards the end of October. Personal life issues can arise and the team are more than aware of this, but there is a limit before it becomes a hindrance.

Therefore, we are in need a new character artist(s)! This project may actually take on two artists for this role for speed and reliability, should their art match/be a similar style/work together well.

Those in particular, I cannot say.

There is also a huge difference between making a card purchase via paypal checkout and linking a card to your account. Many cards that might say they work with paypal often only unspecifically mean the formor, not the latter.

However, anyone can create a Donation/Purchase link through their account, and with that link's page there is a small button that says "pay with creditcard" and that can be used with many giftcards. Through this means you can either directly pay the artist, or use it to donate to yourself and add funds into paypal.

Do note that paypal pings card transactions for 1 dollar, which wouldn't normally be an issue for real credit or debit cards, giftcards often have difficulty with this pinging transaction, espesually if you try to get all of the money out in one purchase. For example, make sure when adding funds to your account that you use only $19 of a $20 card.

Hey all. I've been dipping my fingers into doing lewd drawings, but i don't have much to show so far.
I want to start making money off my art, so i'd like to know how much one might pay for a commission like this?
They're only like 1-1.5 hours worth of work, and i'm still learning digital art properly so my workflow is shit.
I was thinking $20 NZD per hour, which would make something like this $30.
I'm probably underselling a little though, but again, i don't have much experience or even a portfolio to show.

It happens a lot. It's just people being people. Sometimes they're trying something, sometimes they aren't. I've had a commissioner literally bring up another artist's speed, tiers, and pricing, before they even gave me a description for what they want. And of course the other artist charges less for finished pieces. I'm sure a lot of artists here went through that, too, but we just brush off comments like that and keep going.

But what about 3D stuff, 3D Animation, or SFM stuff? Is there a place for that here?
